Theory test

It is not actually necessary to pass a Theory test before you do a CBT, but if you have no driving experience I would strongly recommend that you pass it before you get on two wheels. The Theory test will give you a good understanding of the highway code and the rules of the road. If you want to get a big bike license, you will need to complete it before you take the Mod 1 so it is best to get this in the bag as soon as possible.

The Theory test costs £23 and is valid for two years.

You will need to complete a multiple choice test with 50 questions. Following this you will then watch a series of videos for the hazard perception part of the test. The test takes around an hour and you will know if you have passed before you leave the venue.
